An off-duty Chicago police officer shot three people during an altercation overnight at a bowling alley in south suburban Blue Island.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability , which investigates shootings involving CPD officers, said it was notified of the shooting at 2 a.m. Wednesday. The incident happened at a bowling alley in the 3000 block of West 127th Street.
Multiple police sources told CBS 2’s Suzanne Le Mignot a probationary police officer got into a domestic dispute with his girlfriend in a restroom at the bowling alley, and then got into a fight with another man who was trying to use the bathroom. The off-duty officer then shot the man and two of the man’s friends. Their conditions were not available Wednesday afternoon.Sources said, before fleeing the scene, the off-duty officer threw his gun out of his car.
The officer is assigned to the 5th District, at 727 E. 111th St., and is still in his 18-month probationary period as a new officer.Suzanne
