The victim, 21-year-old Ta’Kiya Young, was suspected of shoplifting when she was confronted by two officers from the Blendon Township Police. Both officers were placed on administrative leave after the shooting. At the discretion of the department, one has returned to work.Officers asked Young to leave her vehicle before she began to drive towards one of the officers. A few seconds passed before the officer in front of the car fired his weapon through the windshield.
