Taylor Mikesell will join Kelsey Mitchell in Indiana as the Indiana Fever select her with the first pick of the second round in the WNBA draft.
As one of four top-17 draft picks by the Fever on Monday night along with No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston , No. 7 overall pick Grace Berger and fellow second-round pick LaDazhia Williams , Mikesell will look to help turn around a team that went just 5-31 in 2022.
Mikesell lands the opportunity to play in the WNBA after two seasons at Ohio State in which she averaged 17.9 points per game. She was one of the nation’s best 3-point shooters in both seasons as a Buckeye, averaging 3.4 made threes per game on 44.2% shooting.

Boston heads to Fever as No. 1 pick in WNBA draftAliyah Boston is the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft, going to the Indiana Fever. It’s the first time that the Fever have had the top choice in the draft and they chose the South Carolina star. Boston, a three-time AP All-American who also was the Player of the Year as a junior, will solidify the post for Indiana. The Fever had the worst record in the league last season, going 5-31. Boston was one of four South Carolina players expected to be taken in the first two rounds of the draft.
