A 19-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon in a house fire in North Pole, according to Alaska State Troopers.
The North Star Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fire at a single-family home in North Pole just before 1 p.m., troopersThey made their way into the home and found an unresponsive woman on the second story, troopers said.
The woman, later identified as North Pole resident Jenna Inman, was taken to a local hospital, where she was declared dead. The state Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. A deputy state fire marshal who responded to investigate “determined that the area of origin was located at the rear of the structure adjacent to a chicken coop with associated heating lamps,” troopers said.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing, but troopers said the fire was classified as accidental.
