OAKLAND — A 27-year-old man was shot to death at a homeless camp near the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday, police said.Officers were called to the encampment in the 8100 block of Baldwin Street about 9 a.m. and found the man shot more than one time, police said. An ambulance took him to a hospital, but emergency personnel there pronounced him dead about 9:45 a.m.
Police said they don’t know if the man was living at the camp or just visiting. Police said they don’t have a motive. They did not announce any arrests. The homicide is the 21st of 2023 investigated by Oakland police. A year ago on March 12, they had investigated 22.
