The Straw Hat Crew's next adventures are written.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Tomorrow Studio CEO Marty Adelstein reveals that One Piece season 2 has been written, alongside a potential release window that could be sooner than expected should Netfllix renew the series. Tomorrow Studios produced the live-action adaptation of the beloved long-running manga written by Eiichiro Oda for the streaming service, with season 1 being composed of eight episodes adapting the East Blue Saga.
Speaking with Variety after One Piece set up season 2, Adelstein teased the next chapter of Luffy's journey. The CEO revealed that an early version of season 2's scripts had already been written ahead of the Netflix series' release, with Tomorrow Studios president Becky Clements stating season 2 could be ready for release between a year and eighteen months, once both the ongoing WGA and SAGAFTRA strikes had been resolved.
One Piece Episode 8 Already Set Up Season 2's Potential First Storyline While Oda's still ongoing manga has plenty of material for the live-action One Piece adaptation to adapt, season 1 brought the crew together and closure for the Going Merry's navigator. After defeating Arlong's crew and rescuing Nam'si home of Coco Village, Luffy, Zoro , Usopp , Sanji , and Nami celebrate Luffy's first bounty, holding a casting-off ceremony where they declare their dreams.
With season 1 already adapting the opening chapters and teasing the antagonists of the Loguetown arc, many viewers both new and old may be eager to see the live-action One Piece crew's return. While season 2's fate rests on whether Netflix is satisfied with the show's viewership, the show's future has clearly been considered and discussed long before audiences got their first glimpse.
