Of course, challenges remain. We started the calendar year with concerns of a looming recession, high inflation and homelessness throughout the nation. These issues have not deterred travel to San Diego, though all three remain a concern locally. While we recognize homelessness is a national crisis, we remain committed to working with community leaders to address these challenges.U.S.

traveled to Washington, D.C., to ask congressional members for support on four priorities: fully funding the assistant secretary of commerce for travel and tourism so the U.S. will no longer be the only G-20 nation without a high-level tourism official; lowering visitor visa wait times from a current average of more than one year; raising the cap on H-2B work visas to fill 1.
