The U.S. Department of Agriculture is awarding six grants to agriculture producers in rural Pennsylvania. The grant awards total $894,290, with $250,000 coming to North Mountain Pastures LLC in Newport. “Ag producers are vital to the system that helps feed Pennsylvanians. Any time we can support them is a success for us as an agency,” said USDA Rural Development Director Bob Morgan.is owned and operated by Brooks Miller and his wife, Anna Santini. The farm has one full-time employee, Noah Erwin, who serves as farm manager. The farm prides itself on providing pasture-raised, grass-fed meat to customers. It was founded in 2009.
