Speaking from the show’s New Zealand set last December, Foad opens up about keeping secrets, digging into an emotionally heavy season, and the luckiest mistake that ever happened to him.
Lucius has since been reunited with his crewmates and his love, Black Pete . But he’s seen things in his time away that will stick with him as the season continues. Foad, like the rest of the Our Flag Means Death cast, remains on strike as part of SAG-AFTRA, and has not given any interviews since the season began.
What’s it like coming toward the end of filming, and what’s it been like being in New Zealand this season? We’re quite exhausted. It’s like near the end of anything. You’re sad to finish. It’s a bit cliched to say that we’re like a big family. It is such a massive cast, which keeps it fun, energized and alive. The food was my most favorite thing about filming in New Zealand. All the food here is good, even the food on set, which is rare. But I like the vibe out here.
