The bottleneck in video and photo creation is often getting digital files from camera to computer. Mac specialist OWC announced new card readers and storage solutions at NAB 2023
To ingest large quantities of creative content, OWC also announced two new card readers at NAB 2023. The Atlas system combines hardware and software to create an easy way to transfer audio and video content from Capture to Completion™.
Innergize software is designed to monitor the health of Atlas memory cards and also has tools that can sanitize cards and upgrade the firmware in the field so memory cards remain compatible and updated for maximum performance and speed. Innergize software is free for use with any Atlas memory cards or card readers.... [+]Professional memory card readers must meet the demands of professional broadcasters, cinematographers, and photographic creators.
OWC says both readers are designed for hefty workloads and have a heat-dissipating design to keep transfer speeds high. The readers also have a write-protect switch and a built-in USB-C cable that stows away neatly in the base of the readers, making them always ready to use on location. The readers also include a USB-C port.
During NAB 2023, OWC demonstrated its new card readers as an end-to-end workflow using Atlas memory cards, card readers and OWC’s Copy That ingesting software. Copy That enables content creators to capture and transfer footage and other digital assets quickly. Copy That for Mac streamlines and speeds up the content ingestion process, making verified copies of the files stored on cards to single or multiple destinations.
