A fifth-grade student raised the alarm after a “secret admirer” started leaving her gifts, candies, and notes in her desk.
In a news release, the DA’s office said 30-year-old Ethan Ray Colpetzer, of Claysburg, Blair County, was arraigned Tuesday on 74 second-degree felony counts of child pornography of sexual abuse of children; one count of attempted corruption of minors; and one count of copying obscene material.
Officials said the events unfolded in February after the student shared with her teacher that she had a “secret admirer” who had been leaving her gifts, candies, and notes in her desk. The student then showed the note to the teacher who didn’t recognize that name. The teacher then met with the school security officer and determined there were no students in the fifth grade named Ethan.
Turns out, other school staff members reported that, prior to leaving the gifts, Colpetzer had been eyeing the young girl and asked other school workers about her, asking them for her name, and used that to locate her classroom and desk.
