David Folweiler, 35, entered his plea before Luzerne County Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr., who imposed the sentence of nine to 18 years in prison. According to prosecutors, Pittston city police officers Drew Malvizzi and Justin Luciano were on patrol the night of Jan. 21, 2021, when they began investigating a report of a Honda Civic parked near a house that has a history of drug-related calls.
When Malvizzi shined a flashlight and asked what he was doing, Folweiler said “what’s up,” turned away and then drew a pistol from his waistband.
