Michel Báez can count on one hand the number of players that pre-date his signing with the Padres in December 2016. There’s José Castillo, who arrived two years earlier as part of the three-team deal that netted Wil Myers. There’s Eguy Rosario, who signed on his 16birthday in August 2015. It wa just Baez’s second Cactus League appearance this spring. He allowed a home run in his first inning of the spring in February.
