The Padres' Yu Darvish will face Brewers rookie Aaron Ashby in the rubber game of three-game series at Petco Park

“It’s just a more powerful feeling when everybody gets involved,” Padres manager Bob Melvin said a day earlier. “ … But it’s just not only that, he’s a good player and he’s developed and he deserves some reps and he works hard. You pinch run in the game looking to potentially go ahead and the next thing you know you have one of the biggest at-bats in the game and he’s ready for it.Azocar is hitting .250/.320/.273.

It was Grisham’s third three-strikeout game of the season. A day earlier, Grisham also played the part of the hero, going 2-for-4 with a double and a squeeze bunt that tied the game in the seventh, setting up Azocar’s later heroics. Grisham has struggled mightily against lefties, hitting .097/.152/.226 in 35 plate appearances against southpaws.

“He’s trying to fight his way out of this,” Melvin said. “It’s tough to look up there and see an average that’s not great, that you’re not comfortable with. He’s trying to fight his way out of this.” Luke Voit is also back in the lineup at DH after coming off the bench Tuesday with a pinch-hit single to extend his hitting streak to five games and lift his batting line to .200/.337/.313.Here is the Brewers’ lineup:
