The answer to everything — to why we’re here, what we’re doing — is quite simple, Pamela Anderson has it
Pamela Anderson. Photo: THOMAS SAMSON/AFP/Getty Images Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? Is it service? Connection? Creation? To know ourselves? Forget ourselves? What are we supposed to do with the terrible, beautiful gift that is our one, short life?
Philosophers, thinkers, high-schoolers sneaking joints in their parents’ basements have puzzled over these questions for millennia, thinking themselves into rhetorical knots. For Aristotle, the purpose of life was to pursue summum bonum, the Highest Good. For Stoics, life was meant to be lived in accordance with the natural order of the universe. Nihilists took deep, ponderous drags of their cigarettes, tucked themselves deeper into their turtlenecks, and posited that life had no meaning at all.
The answer to everything — to why we’re here, what we’re doing — is quite simple. And Baywatch actress, noted vegan, and possible Julian Assange flame Pamela Anderson has it:That’s it. The answer. They key. The secret. The next time you encounter an obstacle, be it personal, professional, emotional, just think to yourself, Is this helping me enjoy a peaceful, sexy life? If the answer is no, ask yourself what you can do that will make your life more sexy and peaceful.
Anderson’s example of a sexy, peaceful life was a lake at sunset. That’s really good. But plenty of other things can be sexy and peaceful, too: a nice plant, crisp bed sheets, a good, juicy sandwich. Sex, I guess. I don’t know, it’s up to you to figure out what is most sexy and peaceful to you. Kind of weird that someone who wants life to be sexy and peaceful would ever go out of her way to talk to Mike Pence, though.
