Parents of young man presumed to have drowned off Mission Beach suing city of San Diego [Breaking]
The parents of an 18-year-old man presumed to have drowned off Mission Beach the day after his high school graduation is suing the city of San Diego for wrongful death.
Prudhomme was swimming with a friend about 3 p.m. June 14 when, a lifeguard approached them on a jet ski and told them to swim toward Lifeguard Tower 16. Prodhomme did as instructed, according to the lawsuit. However, a declaration his father filed with the new lawsuit states the teenager’s remains were “recently discovered.” The family’s attorney, Domenic Martini, said authorities notified the family that remains were found in the area where the teen disappeared, but authorities have not yet confirmed that the remains are those of Prudhomme.Prudhomme disappeared in the water off Jersey Court, north of Belmont Park and near Tower 16.
