One person was treated for smoke inhalation at MetroHealth and released after the fire, which happened about 3:15 a.m. at the complex on Chevrolet Boulevard, just north of Snow Road, according to a news release.Responding firefighters found an apartment ablaze on the second floor, the release says. Police officers also went to the complex to help evacuate residents but were unable to do so due to fire and heavy smoke, according to the release. Firefighters used ladders to rescue several people from balconies on the second and third floors, the release says.
The department did not immediately have an estimate as to how much damage the building sustained but noted the entire building was affected.Read more stories on cleveland.com:
