After a difficult few years, the Napa Valley Wine Train is beginning to regain riders’ trust.
As one of the few active historic railroad trains, the Napa Valley Wine Train says it wants to “evoke the spirit of luxury rail travel” with its lines.
In the wine shop off to the left, Kenny, the leader of the DEI committee, prepares mimosas before patrons journey through the Napa Valley. Nearby, a poster lists which Black-owned wineries are featured in the shop; on the counter is canned wine from McBride Sisters Wine Company, Tasting on the Rails visitors are treated to a selection of seven small courses with seven complementary wines. As the train departs the station, patrons are presented with an amuse-bouche of Boursin herb cheese, sliced grape and milk crumb served on an endive leaf, followed by a warm brioche with lemon butter.
