Paul McCartney told a story of his grandson being mugged at knifepoint -- and said that he was once mugged himself
has revealed that his grandson was recently mugged at knifepoint in London, losing his cell phone to the armed robber.
McCartney didn't specify which of his grandsons was the victim of the crime, but he said that afterwards the grandson told the former Beatle that he felt like a "coward" for not fighting back. "He was saying the worst thing was that he should have just thumped the guy; he came back and felt a coward," McCartney said. "I said, ‘No, no, no, no! The guy had a knife and you don’t know, the guy might be able to use that knife’."
McCartney also told the publication that he was once mugged himself when he was a young boy in Liverpool. "When I was a kid it was four guys and they nicked my watch,” he said. "I was of a similar age. I just happened to be on my own, bigger kids came along and it was the same feeling. [I thought at the time] 'I have got to learn karate and be a black belt — and then I’ll get ’em!' It was the worst thing.
