During the Oscars memorial reel, the actor held the dog as the melody from “Golden Girls” theme song “Thank You For Being a Friend” played.
“Day in and day out for almost a century, she was was a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends, but for animals just like this,” Curtis said of White. “Oh, Betty,” she said on Instagram after the show. “We love you so. We miss you. The animals miss you more. They know how much you loved them. I’m very happy we were able to honor YOU AND give the world a tiny glimpse into the power of the face of a little rescue puppy who is just looking for love and family and safety and warmth.
