Pedestrian hit by car while driver performed doughnuts in Mission Valley, police say [Breaking]
A driver was arrested Sunday on suspicion of hitting a pedestrian with a car while recklessly driving in tight circles — doing doughnuts — in Mission Valley, police said.The incident happened about 7:15 p.m. as some 50 to 100 vehicles — along with spectators — gathered in the area of Camino De La Reina and Hotel Circle North near the Town and Country Resort, where several drivers performed doughnuts, police said.
A police helicopter led police to the driver who struck the pedestrian, police said. The driver and a second person were detained. The crowd cleared out soon soon after, police said. No further information was immediately available.
