Nine days ago, the No. 25 Alabama soccer team saw its 28-match home unbeaten streak end at the hands of No. 21 Mississippi State. On Tuesday, the Crimson Tide had the chance to avenge that defeat, in the SEC Tournament, no less, and didn't follow through. Instead, the Bulldogs ensured that one opportunity Alabama won't get is another shot at making a deep conference tournament run.
After 20 minutes of overtime in which neither side scored, though Alabama experienced a scare in the closing seconds of the first extra period, it came down to penalty kicks to determine what team gets a meeting with top-seeded Arkansas in the tournament semifinals.
