Penn Medicine has struck a deal to buy the shuttered Brandywine Hospital in Chester County.
Chester County officials tell Action News this hospital sale is a "cause to celebrate" following a year and a half of difficulty accessing healthcare in the western part of the county.
Action News is working to find out a timeline of when the deal will be finalized and when Brandywine will reopen.The following is a statement from Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline regarding Tower Health's announcement to sell Brandywine Hospital to Penn Medicine:
