An apparent shooting at a bus station near the Pentagon resulted in multiple injuries and forced the building to temporarily go into lockdown Tuesday
The Pentagon temporarily went into lockdown on Tuesday after an apparent shooting at a nearby bus station that resulted in multiple injuries, officials and emergency responders said.
Lt. Col. Uriah Orland, a Defense Department spokesman, confirmed what he described as a shooting event near the U.S. military headquarters, which is located in Arlington County, Va., across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.near the Metro stop just outside of the Pentagon building but didn’t provide further details.
The lockdown was lifted around midday, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency said, though some nearby areas remained closed.
