Pacific Gas & Electric has agreed to plead guilty to 84 involuntary manslaughter counts in connection with the 2018 Camp Fire, the most destructive wildfire in California's history

In a regulatory filing, PG&E said the plea by its Pacific Gas & Electric unit was part of a March 17 plea agreement with California and the Butte County District Attorney’s office. The settlement is subject to approval by the Butte County Superior Court, as well as the federal bankruptcy court overseeing PG&E’s Chapter 11 case.
