The shoes, made in 2003, were thought to have been lost or destroyed.
Each pair in the trio features crocodile-embossed Supreme leather uppers and has a quarter panel covered in a repeating gold Nike Swoosh logo. Gold Supreme-branded lace locks and oversized tongues complete the look.
Supreme and Nike have produced over 45 sneaker collaborations since 2002, ranging from their first drop, the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low, to 2019’s eye-catching Supreme x Nike Air Max 96. The Dunk High prototypes were their second collaboration, meant to reinterpret Nike’s 1986 ‘Be True to You School’ Nike Dunk colorways. The design being offered is the original take on the classic design, which was allegedly rejected due to concerns over copyright issues at [email protected].
Supreme ended up switching out the golden Nike Swoosh logos seen on the quarter panels for golden stars in an alternate version that was released in 2003. The general release pair is said to sell for upwards of $5,000 on the secondary market today. But to snag the original prototypes of that style, you’ll need to have at least six times that amount to meet low-sales estimates.
