BREAKING Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid wins 2023 NBA MVP Award
For the second straight season, the three finalists were Denver's Nikola Jokic, Philadelphia's Joel Embiid and Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo.
This is Embiid's first time winning the award. He finished second to Jokic in the past two MVP votes. Embiid led the league in scoring for a second straight season, the first center to do that since Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo in the 1970s. "Joel overcame adversity at the start of his career with a combination of perseverance and grit, and now, his intense work ethic has pushed him into the NBA history books. It's been a joy to watch him dedicate himself to the team and the city of Philadelphia. Congratulations to Joel, our fans, and our city on an honor we will always remember," said Managing Partner Josh Harris.
