The Puget Sound region is expecting cold temperatures to start Saturday. To help people get to shelters and warming centers, Pierce Transit is partnering with the Pierce County Department of Emergency Management to provide free bus rides and shuttle rides for registered shuttle customers, according to Pierce Transit.
The free rides will go from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30 but may run longer if the cold weather continues or until the warming shelters close. Free round trips are available, all day, for passengers who tell the driver they are traveling to or from a warming center or shelter.
