The small plane crashed while departing from Reid-Hillview County Airport.
Smith Collection/Gado/Gado via Getty ImagesThe pilot’s small plane, a single-engine Piper PA-32, crashed in a residential neighborhood at 7:30 p.m. after departing from Reid-Hillview County Airport,After hearing the crash and noticing downed power lines, nearby residents were evacuated and the area was roped off by San Jose police. The pilot was transported to a nearby hospital.
Officers are currently at the scene of a small aircraft aviation accident in the area of Ocala Ave and Karl St, near Reid-Hillview Airport. One adult male pilot transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries reported.
