Telly has an Android-based operating system that lets users access workouts, gaming, video calling, and other features.Telly has a 55-inch display, 4K HDR monitor, and sensors that enable interactive gaming and video calls.Telly says viewers will see "effective, yet unobtrusive ads."Telly was designed with the family in mind.Telly can be used to run fitness programs.Interactive uses like video calls are a big part of the pitch.Telly said TVs have become a commodity, low-margin product.

Telly says people spend 5.8 hours a day watching TV and digital video, a valuable opportunity for advertisers.Telly plans to use retailers and distribution partners to get its TVs into people's homes.It plans to distribute its first 500,000 TVs directly at first, with other pipelines to follow. Telly's team has a background from tech, TV, and retail, with experience at Google, Nielsen, Walmart, and more.The team includes chief product officer Sascha Prueter, former head of product for Google's Android TV; Matt Katrosar, former VP at Pluto; and Eric Loes, ex-VP of software engineering at Vizio.Telly says a minority of people prioritize TV viewing plans that let them avoid ads.
