Police are investigating after claims that a college baseball team attempted to poison its opponent during a game in Kansas last week.
Kansas Wesleyan University has reportedly filed a report with the Lindsborg Police Department in Kansas alleging that someone with the Bethany College baseball program attempted to poison their players by placing a foreign substance in the team’s water cooler.There was no word on if any of the players actually drank from the tainted cooler or became sick.A photo of the alleged water cooler was tweeted out by a KWU Barstool account which is not officially affiliated with the school.
TMZ said that the Lindborg Police Department said that it is “actively investigating the situation,” and that both schools have been “cooperative with authorities.” “Bethany College takes the safety of all students, including student-athletes, seriously,” the school told TMZ. “Currently, the college has no information to suggest the identity or association of the person or persons responsible. We are fully cooperating with the investigation of local law enforcement.”
