The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said officers responded to an incident Saturday afternoon after reports of a person shot outside a Winn Dixie parking lot.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man exiting the store got into a dispute with a homeless man, resulting in a shooting. A suspect is not in police custody.According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 8700 block of Old Kings Road South in reference to a person shot.
Officers said a man was found with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The initial investigation revealed the suspect, a man who was a patron at a nearby business, made contact with the victim after exiting the store. The victim is a homeless man, according to police.The suspect and an unknown female fled the area in a white sedan, according to police. The suspect was described by police as a man wearing a multi-colored jacket with cream-colored pants.
