The prosecutor’s office did not name the victim or speculate as to why the Ocean City officer may have placed the tracking device on the vehicle.

Jacob M. Harris, 32, of Egg Harbor Township, allegedly placed the device on a vehicle, which was at a home in Lower Township, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland. “Harris is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of his criminal proceedings,” the prosecutor said in a statement.
