Police pursuit in Oceanside ends with crash into ambulance that sends 3 to hospital [Breaking]
Three people were transported to the hospital on Christmas Eve after a person being pursued by deputies crashed into an ambulance in Oceanside, sheriff’s officials said.
The incident began after deputies were called to an altercation at a home on Casa Bonita Way in Vista just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Roller said. The suspect reportedly fled, and deputies began a pursuit that ended a few minutes later when the suspect’s vehicle hit an ambulance on College Boulevard near Vista Way, authorities said.The driver of the vehicle suffered a broken wrist and abdominal injuries, Roller said. The two paramedics in the ambulance had superficial injuries but were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Roller said authorities suspected drugs were a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
