A New Jersey man was arrested by Port Authority police after they spotted him using a spy device to hide his license plate to beat a Holland Tunnel toll.
Port Authority police arrested the driver of a white Dodge Challenger in this video taken at the Holland Tunnel Friday morning.Like something out of a James Bond movie, a New Jersey man was spotted using a device to cover his license plates at the Holland Tunnel toll gantry and promptly arrested Friday morning, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police said.
The cashless toll collection system at the tunnel either reads a vehicles’ E-ZPass transponder or photographs the front and rear license plates so the vehicle owner can be billed for the toll. In this case, the car had no front license plate, police said. According to police, this was the second time the Dodge Challenger was spotted using an “electronic curtain to “black-out” his rear license plate as it passed the toll gantry at the Holland Tunnel. A State Trooper saw the Dodge Challenger earlier this month and reported it, police said.to beat tolls at the authority’s Hudson River crossings.
