Title IX, the landmark civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination at educational institutions that receive money from the United States Department of Education, turns 50 this June.
Title IX requires educational institutions to provide equitable access and resources to its male and female athletes. "Before you almost had to suffer in silence when I was playing, but these young ladies they have a voice and they are willing to raise it and speak up," Miller said.
