The three finalist flavors have been chosen in Herr's annual Flavored by Philly contest.
And you can now buy this year’s finalists to see if you agree with whether orhow the company asks locals each year during their annual Flavored by Philly contest to submit ideas for rather unusual chip flavors as inspired by their favorite food joint in the City of Brotherly Love. Of the roughly 1,500 submissions received this past fall, ones that stuck out were cannoli, donut, pierogi, and taco.
The same release goes on to confirm that three flavors were picked by a panel of judges — one of whom was Top Chef Jen Carroll of Spice Finch — who whittled it down to the following: roast pork sandwich ; tomato pie ; and Korean BBQ . “Herr’s is a brand that grew up in Philly and we remain true to our Philly roots,” says Herr’s Chairman and CEO, Ed Herr. “Through Flavored by Philly, we wanted to highlight other small businesses and their signature flavors to give the people of our community a unique experience they could really get excited about.”
