Tropical storm watches have been posted for parts of the Leeward Islands ahead of Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven:

This system is becoming better organized and is close to becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm. It is likely to be a tropical storm strength when it reaches the Leeward Islands so this system was given the designation of a potential tropical cyclone in order to issue tropical storm watches.Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven will quickly move westward or west-northwestward at 15-25 mph through the weekend. It is then expected to decrease its forward speed early next week.
Regardless of development, it will likely bring gusty winds, rounds of rain and choppy seas as it either passes through the islands into the Caribbean or parallels the northernmost islands of the Lesser Antilles in the Atlantic.Advertisement
