Power Rangers’ new Red Ranger for Cosmic Fury breaks one of the series’ oldest Zord tropes. A sequel to Power Rangers Dino Fury that is also expected to be a celebration of the Power Rangers universe, Cosmic Fury has the difficult mission of being the series that will premier during Power Rangers’ 30th anniversary. Despite the returning Power Rangers cast, Cosmic Fury is set to be a lot different from Dino Fury.

Given how iconic the tyrannosaurus is when it comes to dinosaurs in pop culture, it always made sense for the Red Ranger’s main Zord to be a T. rex.
