Last season's CIF championship has pushed the Wildcats up into Division II this season
Then just 6 years old, she remembers vividly watching older sister Jaylene, then a freshman, celebrate a San Diego Section Division I championship.More than a decade later, Jade Ignacio capped her junior year in 2021 by playing a major role in helping El Camino win its first CIF championship since Jaylene played for the Wildcats.
“She carried us,” El Camino coach Dan Worley said. “I honestly feel we could have gone all the way behind her in 2020 except for COVID. She’s a gamer who hates to lose. Her freshman year we had to get her to dial it back a little because she was constantly getting hurt.”“She needed a triple for one of them, so in her last at-bat she got a triple,” Worley said. “When she got up from her slide, she didn’t even know she had done it.
