One of professional wrestling's rising Black female stars — Angela Arnold, a.k.a. AQAOfficial10 — is an Alabama native. She says she caught the wrestling bug from her grandfather, a lifelong fan, when she was about 10 years old. Meet her:

A.Q.A. made her AEW debut in February, challenging Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship, named for the TBS cable network which airs “Dynamite,” the company’s hit weekly program. “Dynamite” averages around a million viewers. Quite the audience for someone from Gilbertown, an Alabama town with a population of around 750, as A.Q.A. does.

, scion of Jacksonville Jaguars NFL franchise owner Shahid Khan. After her Jade Cargill match, Tony Khan tweeted that A.Q.A. was “a shooting star.” Formerly with company WWE, where she’d also competed under the name Zayda Ramier, Arnold is now signed with AEW. “Immediately, it felt like family,” Arnold says. “And that’s very important to, in my opinion, young wrestlers.”

To maintain her wrestling skills, Arnold does a ton of cardio. Pairing with training partners who know how to base well, or raise her up, is also paramount. Crash pads are involved. “Because you don’t always get it right the first time,” she says. And she’s always trying to think of a new spin on classic moves or invent a new one. “Everyone can do a dropkick,” Arnold says. “Let’s try to take what’s already been done and make it our own.
