Project Prom Dress San Antonio founder Ashley Johnson poses Tuesday among the formal dresses and shoes her non-profit organization gives to high school teens who can not afford the cost of dresses for prom and other formal occasions.SAN ANTONIO — Ashley Johnson will never forget her high school prom dress.

Johnson arrived at Fox Tech High School for her prom, draped in layered material the color of a bright summer day on a spring night that lives on. So does her pride in turning a fantasy into reality. The organization provides formal wear and accessories at no cost — the teens keep everything. Ashley Johnson said they’ve outfitted more than 600 San Antonio teens since 2015.
