Henry Cárdenas, owner and president of event and concert promotion firm Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), has made a major investment in Colombia’s touring infrastructure with the purchase of Bogotá’s Arena Bogotá.

The deal was valued at over $30 million. The 24,000 seat venue is slated to open in the second quarter of 2020. “This great space gives us the flexibility to perform events and shows that we otherwise may not have been able to do,” said Cárdenas in a statement. “The capacity of Arena Bogotá will be three times greater than any other arena that exists in Latin America. It’s about time that Colombia had a building that was able to offer more and better shows.”
A native of Colombia, Cárdenas has lived in the United States since he was a teenager. Here, he built an empire, making CMN the most successful independent Latin promotion company in the country, booking artists including Marc Anthony, Maluma and Bad Bunny. Cárdenas also heads Cardenas Entertainment and Marketing Group and, together with longtime client and business partner Marc Anthony, he launched the Maestro Cares Foundation.
It will feature a 131 feet high roof with the capacity to resist 110 tons and storage space of more than 40,000 square feet, which will allow load-in of more than 10 trucks simultaneously, the largest loading space of its kind in Latin America. The arena will also boast 2,500 parking spaces -- unheard of, yet essential in a city of the size of Bogotá.
