Prosecutor: Driver 'intentionally' ran red light in crash that killed San Diego jazz, bluegrass musician [Breaking]
The driver in the Feb. 13 crash that killed a San Diego jazz and bluegrass musician had “intentionally” run the red light at a San Carlos intersection, a prosecutor said in court this week.
Meland is out of custody after posting $50,00 bond. In court Monday, her attorney, Charles Quirk, told Judge David Danielsen that his client is the sole caretaker for her father. Danielsen denied a request that she be allowed to drive to work and to her father’s appointments.During Meland’s arraignment, Deputy District Attorney Hailey Williams saidMeland had run the red light at that intersection as she headed to work five times in the days before the crash — on Feb, 1, 5, 6, 9 and 12.
