“I was most excited to meet him,” the Queer Eye star said of his soon-to-be DWTS castmate
The topic came up when Brown was asked by a red-carpet reporter who his toughest competition on the show might be. Brown brought up Spicer unprompted.
“I was most excited to meet him,” he said. “I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle, you can learn about each other and help each other both grow.”When his remarks began going viral, Brown responded to a Twitter user who said they were “disappointed” in theculture expert. Brown replied that he had no say about who would be in the cast with him, and didn’t know Spicer was going to be on the show until ABC announced it on Wednesday.
“But I’ll tell you this... I’m excited to sit down w/ him and engage in a respectful conversations,” he continued. “Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us.”
