RacistGOP trends on Twitter as Republicans stay silent on Donald Trump's racist attack
With political voices from around the world rising to condemn President Donald Trump over his racist attack on four Congresswomen on Sunday, members of the Republican party are starting to face scrutiny over their own silence.
"Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done," the president had, all of whom, aside from Omar, were born in the United States."These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough.
"Those tweets are racist, and xenophobic," Texas Representative Will Hurd said."It's also behavior that's unbecoming of the leader of the free world. He should be talking about things that unite, not divide us." Among those who did not, however, were the many Twitter users who saw the"#RacistGOP" hashtag trend on Monday and Tuesday.
