Ralph Fiennes says he was “set up” to be a “relationship decoy” for his MaidInManhattan costar Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
. “We were so young and so in love at that time, really very carefree, with no kids, no attachments,” Lopez told. “And we were just living our lives, being happy and out there. It didn’t feel like we needed to hide from anybody or be real discreet.. There was a lot underneath the surface there, people not wanting us to be together, people thinking I wasn’t the right person for him.”
After revealing that she became “very guarded” following their 2004 split, the New York native explained that when she and Affleck reconnected, they were careful to keep things out of the spotlight.“Obviously, we weren’t trying to go out in public,” Lopez recalled. “But I never shied away from the fact that for me, I always felt like there was a real love there, a true love there. People in my life know that he was a very, very special person in my life.
