With several young players and possible moves along the offensive line, the Rams have a slim margin for error going into Sunday’s game in Indianapolis
THOUSAND OAKS — The Rams weren’t able to turn their season-opening win into discernable momentum, dropping their next two games of the season. But after losing to the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals – each a conference runner-up a year ago – by a combined 10 points, the Rams were left with a hollow feeling.
But as the Rams prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts , faced with the possibilities of either climbing back to .500 or falling to 1-3 with the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles coming to town next week, the Rams aren’t putting any extra emphasis on this game. It’s a slight feeling of déjà vu for the Rams, who underwent a mindboggling number of offensive line injuries last season. But that experience helps if more in-game changes are required Sunday.
Colts rookie Anthony Richardson missed last week’s game with a concussion, but is cleared to play against the Rams. The No. 4 pick in April’s draft, Richardson completed 64.9% of his passes in the season opener for 223 yards while averaging 4.0 yards per carry.
