Third baseman Josh Jung, once the leading candidate for AL Rookie of the Year, could return to the Rangers lineup as soon as the end of next week.
“I didn’t feel anything, but it’s also still numb,” Jung said. “It was just a little weird. All my attention was on my hand instead of on my swing.”
Since Jung went down after being hit by a line drive, the Rangers offense has struggled. The Rangers are just 10-17 without Jung and the offense is averaging just 4.2 runs, down more than a run from the season average . Jung’s absence from the bottom half of the lineup combined with Heim’s struggle to re-discover his swing after he returned from the IL and the disappearances of the bats of Leody Taveras and Ezequiel Duran have left the bottom half of the lineup unproductive..
