A series of attempted and successful carjackings have Renton police worried that someone may soon be hurt or even killed.
it's investigating five cases that occurred within a five-day period, all between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 1:09 a.m. The RPD said multiple suspects are believed to have committed the crimes, and in one case, gunshots were fired.
Police said the motivation behind the carjackings seems to be the robbery of victims' vehicles and personal possessions. It's unclear if the five incidents are related, police added. The crimes have happened everywhere from industrial parks to outside of peoples' homes, police said.
